Working in support of the local FAST charity, we are helping several very poor communities in the villages of Targungeni, Zizin and Budila, which are all near the town of Sacele, on the outskirts of Brasov city.
The work includes -
- Pre-school work to prepare children for primary school when they start at aged 7; this is particularly important to reduce the high drop out rate from primary school.
- Development of small community centres where the people can be helped with advice, completion of confusing official forms, and children’s after school clubs
- Distribution of essential aid items to very needy families
- Liaison with local authorities to obtain help for communities who have little voice of their own.
